Today (19th), the 7th China Industry Awards, representing the highest award in China’s industrial sector, was announced in Beijing. Which projects have won this honor this year?

A total of 19 enterprises and 19 projects, including the ultra-deepwater atmospheric field “Deep Sea No.1” project and the key technologies of the entire rubber tire industry chain, were awarded the “China Industry Award”, and 26 enterprises and 22 projects were awarded the China Industry Award Commendation Award. Compared with previous sessions, the award-winning enterprises and projects have played a prominent guiding role in various aspects such as independent innovation, transformation and upgrading, green and low-carbon, and improving the modernization level of the industrial chain supply chain.

The China Industry Award is the highest award in China’s industrial sector, approved by the State Council, and is selected and awarded every two years.

New technology makes China’s tire manufacturing move toward high-end

As the highest award in China’s industrial sector, each session of the Industry Awards showcases the latest characteristics of China’s industrial and economic development in the past two years. For example, the key technology of the entire rubber tire industry chain that won the award this year has made China’s domestic tire manufacturing move from low-end to high-end, achieving the modernization of China’s entire rubber tire industry chain.

Entering this laboratory, a huge transmission electron microscope is analyzing two seemingly identical rubber materials, and two completely different raw material structure diagrams are displayed on the computer screen at this time.

Zhang Hao, an engineer at the National Rubber and Tire Engineering Technology Research Center, said: “The left side is physical raw rubber, and the right side is chemical raw rubber. It can be seen that the chemical raw rubber is more uniform, with fewer surface pores, while the physical raw rubber has more obvious surface pores and more tearing marks.” This new rubber refining technology has overturned many basic theories in the traditional rubber field and developed high-performance rubber new materials known as “liquid gold”.

This technology and new materials developed by Zhang Hao are currently widely used in the production of rubber products such as tires, making China’s domestic tire manufacturing move from low-end to high-end. At the same time, it has also realized the intelligence of more than 30 sets of tire equipment throughout the product chain, developed a series of internationally leading products, and achieved the modernization of China’s entire rubber tire industry chain.

Yuan Zhongxue, director of the National Rubber and Tire Engineering Technology Research Center, said: “The process of production saves more than 40% of energy consumption. Our rolling resistance is very low, as low as more than 10%. This is too important for human safety. Throughout the equipment, the amount of land used, and investment, we have reduced by half, so this is a green revolution.”

In addition, the ultra-deepwater atmospheric field “Deep Sea No.1” project that won the industry award involves more than 200 sets of oil and gas processing key equipment, 240,000 parts, achieved three world-class innovations, and used 13 domestically initiated technologies. It has driven the development of multiple related industries such as shipbuilding, steel, and electromechanical, and initially constructed a full industry chain system for China’s marine engineering equipment.

High-strength power generation glass realizes “where there is light, there is electricity”

Many enterprises and projects that won the industry award this time have made many new breakthroughs in green manufacturing, energy conservation, and emission reduction. The full set of independent innovation technologies has transformed an originally insulated ordinary glass into a semiconductor material that can conduct electricity and generate electricity, making “where there is light, there is electricity” a reality.

A power generation glass of about 2 square meters can generate 270 degrees of electricity annually in weak light indoor environments. Only two or three pieces can meet a family’s annual electricity consumption. What kind of glass is so magical?

Pan Jingong, general manager of Chengdu Building Materials Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd., said: “This is our large-area cadmium telluride power generation glass produced by our company, and this is our core raw material cadmium ore for cadmium telluride power generation glass. Traditional photovoltaic technology is like a meat sandwich, sandwiching the battery piece in the glass. Our full set of independent innovation technology grows our cadmium telluride on the glass, making it like a scallion pancake, mixing salt and flour together.”

An originally insulated ordinary glass, while transforming into a semiconductor material that can conduct electricity and generate electricity, also has higher strength than ordinary glass. An impact test is being conducted here.

Wang Yiren, a special market consultant invited by Chengdu Building Materials Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd., said: “After this 45 kg lead ball experiment, our cadmium telluride glass is intact in appearance, and our power generation performance is also very stable during this process.”

Currently, this research and development achievement has obtained 34 patents, of which 19 invention patents are completely independent core technology patents in China, achieving the “Chinese intelligent manufacturing” of cadmium telluride power generation glass, and transforming China’s flat glass from building materials into functional materials that can generate electricity and filter light. It is known as the “oil field hanging on the wall.” In Chengdu, the annual production capacity of cadmium telluride power generation glass has reached 100 MW, with an average annual power generation of more than 110 million kWh, saving nearly 40,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 120,000 tons.

Pan Jingong, the general manager of Chengdu Building Materials Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd., said: “This year, we will not only increase the proportion of green building materials in domestic stock building renovations and new building projects, but also go abroad and enter countries such as Germany, France, and Italy, bringing China’s green energy technology to every corner of the world.”

In addition to this kind of power-generating glass, many green intelligent technologies in the industrial field, such as the integrated innovation of low-carbon and green circulation utilization of coal, oil, and gas resources and the green low-carbon full-chain empowerment of the steel industry for rural revitalization projects, have also won the industry award.
