According to data released by the Customs Administration on October 13, 2023, China’s total exports and imports of goods in September amounted to 3.74 trillion yuan, reaching a record high for the year.

For the first three quarters of this year, China’s total exports and imports of goods amounted to 30.8 trillion yuan. Customs Administration officials stated that, despite facing complex and challenging external conditions and domestic difficulties and challenges this year, China’s foreign trade in exports and imports has performed steadily and positively.

From the quarterly perspective, exports and imports in the first, second, and third quarters amounted to 9.72 trillion yuan, 10.29 trillion yuan, and 10.79 trillion yuan, respectively, with a gradual increase in scale over the quarters. From the monthly perspective, exports and imports in August and September showed consecutive positive growth for two months, with September’s imports and exports reaching a record high for the year.
